How to Make Dating Profile Photos with AI (Without Catfishing)

A good dating profile usually has four or five photos: a clear face shot, one that shows your whole outfit, something outdoors, something social and something that shows what you like doing. Most people have one or two of those.

AI face swap can fill the gaps, as long as the results still look like the person who'll turn up for the first drink.

The dating photo set to aim for

  • A real, recent face photo. Keep this one unedited. It's the photo people check against when you meet.
  • A dressed-up shot: Sophisticated or Confident & Bold.
  • An outdoor shot: Outdoor Lifestyle or Fun & Playful.
  • A relaxed everyday shot: Casual Dating or Weekend Casual.
  • Something with personality: Artistic & Creative.

Dating & Social templates in the app

The Dating & Social category has 12 templates, with Female and Male versions of the most popular styles. They're half-body portraits in real places: a café, a city street at golden hour, a garden, a hiking trail. You can see every one on our dating profile photo templates page.

Rules for keeping AI dating photos honest

  • Keep at least one unedited photo, and make it your first or second.
  • Choose templates with a body type and hairstyle close to yours.
  • Stay within a few years of your real age.
  • Don't use swapped photos to claim things that aren't true, like a hobby you don't have or a place you've never been.

The test is simple: would your date recognise you from every photo? If yes, you're fine.

Make the selfie count

Every template uses the same selfie, so it's worth five minutes. Face a window in daylight, hold the phone at eye level and give a natural smile. More detail in how to make a face swap look realistic.

Mixing AI photos with real ones

Two or three swapped photos next to two real ones is a good ratio. Put a real photo first, then alternate. If someone comments on a photo, be ready to say it's an AI edit. Most people won't mind if you look like your pictures.

Questions

Will matches be able to tell a photo is AI?

With a good selfie and a matching template, often not at a glance. That's exactly why it matters to keep the results close to how you really look.

How many AI photos should a dating profile have?

Two or three at most, alongside at least one or two recent unedited photos. Lead with a real one.
